Well I have finally gotten this new interface to a point where I can put it online.  It has taken me several months to complete.  I coded everything from scratch as well as the graphics.  My job now is to continue filling up the interface with meaningful content.  I hope this interface can help demonstrate just how useful dynamic HTML can be.

But isn't dynamic HTML too difficult to code because the browsers are so different?  It does have it's limitations in that area.  I, and many of my associates, have found satisfactory solutions to this objection and once an API (application program interface) has been created, new pages are much easier to compose.

Dynamic HTML has much potential in web applications.  You don't need any plugins to appreciate it and usually loads faster too.  I have had a lot of fun creating the following web toys using dHTML:

Minbari Chaser !!! - This piece uses cursor chasing concepts and combines it with a 3D spaceship from my all-time favorite science fiction TV show, Babylon 5.

GurusNetwork Development - The Gurus Network is a collaborative WWW tutorial project.

I have contributed a few graphics and one tutorial so far to this effort.  I have collected all my contributions here as well as ideas I'm hoping to develop for submission later.

Green Buttons Take Flight  First we need to close any other open windows and reposition this one so you can see the buttons do their thing.

Now you can make the green buttons fly to 4 different locations:

Wasn't that fun? I did this demonstration until I get time to do something a little more helpful.  When I coded this page I had intended the green buttons to fly around as part of the loading sequence.  This is probably too much, and would get too annoying after one had already seen it a couple of times.  So I decided to just allow you to do it from this window.

Check out this tutorial I did for the GurusNetwork.  It shows you how to create an image that literally chases your cursor around the screen.  I explain some basic Object Oriented programming techniques for Javascript too.

Doc Javascript Headlines   A big thank you to Mr. Max for allowing me the use of his news script!  Read on and learn my friends.
